Other productions

Over the years, The Hanfris Quartet has also worked with other musical groups and theatre companies, on new musicals and on joint shows with instrumental groups.

Here are some of the highlights.

Shaking Shakespeare, by Moisès Maicas

A musical revisiting songs from every era written to texts by the great English playwright, with Shakespeare himself as master of ceremonies. It premiered at the Teatre Maldà in Barcelona (December 2015) and ran for more than 50 performances across Catalonia.

The show was nominated for best musical at the 2016 Premis de la Crítica and for best musical show at the 2016 Premis Butaca.

Pla vs. Welles, by Pere Solés

A play premiered at the Centre d’Arts Escèniques «El Canal» in Salt in May 2016, as part of the Girona A Cappella festival.

It recreated the meeting, 50 years earlier, between the Catalan writer Josep Pla (played by Quim Lecina) and the American filmmaker Orson Welles (played by Jordi Coromina) at the Hotel La Gavina in S’Agaró, with two live musical genres: havaneres, sung by the havanera group Les Anxovetes, and barbershop, by The Hanfris Quartet.
